Happy New Year...huh?
Yeah, I haven’t blogged the entire year of 2011. #EpicFail on my part. So, anyway, I thought I’d wish a happy new year to those of you that didn’t get one from me.

3 Great Events Tonight (SoCal)
If you’re in Southern California and do not have anything to do tonight, here are three great events you can be a part of that actually make a difference.
Restore Tour: Child Solider No More
This epic live event tells a tale of the tragedy and the triumph of the child soldiers and the greater community of northern Uganda, who have endured some of the worst atrocities known to man. Oasis...

Another Facebook Fail - New Groups
I just don’t get it. Maybe it’s ‘cause I just saw The Social Network and my distaste for Mark Zuckerberg has been renewed, but Facebook’s New Groups suck!
I was in line at the movies last night when I received a notification that I had been added to a new Facebook Group. Huh? How did this happen? I didn’t request to be added to this particular group?
When I got...
Business Personality Type
You should have a general idea of your personality type. When it comes to business, however, I like the way William J.H. Boetcker defines the four classes of people: 1) Those who always do LESS than they are told. 2) Those who will do what they are told, but NO MORE. 3) Those who will do things WITHOUT being told. 4) Those who will INSPIRE others to do things. Which one are you & why? via...

Adios Manny
Back in the summer of 2008, I was working in the marketing department of a bi-coastal law firm. I’ll never forget the excitement when our mail clerk told me that the Dodgers had just traded for Manny Ramirez.
I was excited because 1) I’ve been a Dodger fan my entire life and; 2) because our law firm had season tickets in the Dugout Club and a few more games reserved in the press box...

God of Justice
For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can...

The Social Costs of Pornography →
A few months back, I re-tumbled a post from MarriageTweets about the effects of watching pornography on relationships. The post generated more comments than this humble blog usually gets.
Earlier this month, the Witherspoon Institute released a report examining “the social costs of pornography,” signed by more than 50 scholars representing a wide array of professions, academic...

Lent Update: 12 Days Without Twitter
It’s been an interesting 12 days since Lent began. Although there have been moments where I’ve been tempted to open up UberTwitter and tell the “world” what I just saw, smelled, or ate, I can honestly say that the break has been nice.
I’ve been able to complete some long overdue projects.
I had dinner with an old friend in town on business.

Repentance Over Romance: Or Why I'm Giving Up...
Growing up in the pentecostal tradition, I did not practice the season of Lent. The only thing I knew about it was that my Roman Catholic friends weren’t allowed to eat meat on Fridays and McDonald’s always seemed to bring out another Filet-o-Fish campaign.
As I began to study a little more about this season, I fell in love with it. Lent provides Christians everywhere with an...

I was introduced to church planter Todd Bishop in May 2008. Todd serves as lead pastor of Point Community Church in Westbury, NY. Since meeting Todd, I’ve been challenged by his passion and vision for church planting, Long Island, and the Church.
On May 20, 2010, Todd and Point Community are sponsoring The X Conference, an exciting one day event for church leaders. Presenters include Mark...

Shlemiel (shləmēl): [n] a clumsy, inept person, similar to a klutz (also a Yiddish word). The kind of person who always spills his soup. (Source: Daily Writing Tips)

An Interview With Dave Ingland About The Idea Camp...
This past February, I attended the inaugural Idea Camp in Irvine, CA. For those that don’t know what the Idea Camp is, it’s an open source hybrid conference, initiated by Charles Lee, where innovative and creative leaders and thinkers gather to share ideas, intentionally network, and move collaboratively into idea-making. It was a great success as was the follow gathering in D.C.
